2008-2009 School Year Enrollment Procedures

Enrollment Procedure
  1. Enrollment is held each January for the upcoming school year and all applicants must adhere to the registration calendar.
  2. Application information may be obtained through the school office.
  3. Applicants for Transitional K and Kindergarten must attain the age of five (5) by September 1 of the upcoming school year.
  4. All signed application forms, birth certificates, registration and testing fees are due at the time of registration.
  5. The complete application forms, Emergency form, and fees must be received by the AMCA office staff prior to scheduling an admission testing date. These are due at registration.
  6. All students entering the school for the first time must present a current immunization record. Kindergarten students must have a completed immunization record marked “school ready” by the first day of school.
  7. All students entering the school must present a completed eye, ear and dental screening form, confidential teacher recommendation and school records transferred before admittance.
  8. All registration and testing fees (175.00) are non-refundable.
  9. Withdrawal of an applicant before testing forfeits all registration/testing fees.

The Academy will admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other-school administered programs.

Testing
  1. Students may be admitted to AMCA at any time during the school year.
  2. Admissions testing is conducted on all new students.
  3. Testing may include but not be limited to: entrance tests, an interview, school transcripts, teacher recommendation and input from Admissions Committee
  4. The school offers instruction to students at the level most appropriate to their development as determined by testing, administration, classroom teachers and the Board of Directors.
  5. AMCA is unable to accommodate students with severe learning, emotional. behavioral and physical challenges.
  6. The final criteria for admittance to AMCA are based on the academy’s ability to educate the student in accordance with the AMCA mission statement and the resources available at the academy.AMCA will make every reasonable effort to assist parents with recommendation for alternative placement when admission to AMCA is denied.

Transcripts
AMCA must receive all records from any schools previously attended before final acceptance. An “Authorization and Release form” can be obtained in the school office.

AMCA requests divorced parents to provide a copy of the custody section of their divorce decree to assist the staff in determining whether the student may ever be released to a non-custodial parent.

Acceptance Procedure
  1. Upon acceptance, 10% initial payment must be paid(based on the annual tuition rate) to secure placement.
  2. If a student enters the school at any time after the start of the school year, the tuition fees will be assessed based on the number of school days remaining in the school year.
  3. Initial payments are applied toward total tuition costs.
  4. Tuition must be paid in full by December 31st of the school year.
